We had a fantastic time as usual. Loved the route & our captain was brilliant. Particularly like our night on shore the restaurant was excellent in a quiet bay. This still remains our favourite holiday just sad to cut it short this time & rush back for a wedding....again! Handing over to Boyes to organise next year so hopefully we'll be back. Enjoy September I wish I was heading out again now.

Don't call it a dream. Call it a plan and sail with us.

Ventus Sailing Cruises welcomes you on board! Ventus is a Dutch tour operator (with an office in the UK - Belvedere Travel) that organizes all-inclusive sailing cruises along the Turkish Aegean coast, with a few cruises also including visits to some Greek islands. This area enjoys a blend that is wholly unique: spectacular landscapes, a fascinating history and all this combined with superb sailing opportunities. Besides enjoying the natural and cultural beauty of the area, a Ventus sailing cruise is all about offering you the ultimate leisure cruise. Simply bask in the sun while getting away from all the routines at home, sample delicious Turkish dishes, visit historic places and above all enjoy the tranquil sailing along the fabulous Turkish coastline.

What about the weather?

The sailing season lasts from April until November. Turkey and Greece enjoy a Mediterranean climate with average temperatures of 25 degrees centigrade in April, May and October. At the height of the season (June – August) temperatures range from 30 to 35 degrees centigrade. It is not humid and it is unlikely to rain in the hottest months. Since we are out at sea most of the time the sea breeze offers some cooling in summer.

The Latin word ‘ventus’ means ‘wind’, hence our name. Wind is essential when sailing. All our traditionally built wooden Turkish yachts, gulets, are perfectly designed for sailing.

Meals & drinks on board

When it comes to food you are up for a feast in Turkey and Greece. Turkish and Greek cuisines are ranked among the world’s top cuisines, offering an endless array of delicious dishes with each region in Turkey and Greece having its own distinctive personality. The building blocks of the Turkish and Greek cuisine are fresh vegetables and fruit, seafood, grilled meat, mezzes (starters) and salads.
Mezes are served warm or cold and the more popular ones include borek (savory pastry stuffed with meat or cheese), stuffed aborigine, dolmas (green peppers and vine leaves stuffed with savory rice) and stuffed green peppers. All these separate dishes are served at once, accompanied by cacik (yoghurt with finely shredded cucumber and garlic), fresh bread and a bottle of raki or ouzo. Afiyet olsun! Bon appetit! Enjoy!

Our crew

Our Turkish crew usually consists of a captain, cook and two or three deckhands depending on the size of the yacht. They are very experienced, are continuously at your disposal and will cater to all your needs. The cook pampers you during the whole trip with Mediterranean specialties and the captain will ensure your safety at sea and will show you the most beautiful and picturesque coves and secluded bays. Between April and November we will try to sail whenever the wind gets strong enough and when you are experienced at sailing yourself feel free to assist the crew.

We all had the most wonderful week on the splendid Borina. Everything went like clockwork and the amazing Bodrum agent, Nesle ( I hope that’s how you spell it) was efficient , kind and extremely helpful. The crew were simply perfect, very patient, professional and fun and we felt very safe sailing with the amazing captain. The hotel on the last day was perfect, we decided not to rush the day so spent it shopping and relaxing instead of the planned Turkish bath etc.

I had forgotten how blissful relaxation is! Your fantastic Gulet holiday gave us back a feeling of enjoyment, relaxation and laughter. Please send a huge thank you to the team in Bodrum and thank you so much for organising such a memorable holiday with so many memories to cherish.

Are you already booked up for next year or are there still spaces? As its not ideal for young grandchildren yet I am thinking of getting a group of friends together for next year in Late May/early June. When you have time could you let me know if that could be a possibility, perhaps for a smaller group 8-10?
